Calabasas is a city in Los Angeles County, California, located in the northwest Santa Monica Mountains. The Leonis Adobe, an adobe edifice in Old Town Calabasas, was built in 1844 and is one of the city's oldest surviving structures. Prior to that, it was an unincorporated part of Los Angeles County that was incorporated in 1991. The city's population was 23,058 at the 2010 census, up from 20,033 at the 2000 census. The community is in the southwest corner of Los Angeles County's San Fernando Valley and includes a section of the Santa Monica Mountains. It's 50 kilometers (31 miles) from downtown Los Angeles. It is bordered on the northeast by the Los Angeles suburb of Woodland Hills, on the east by Topanga, on the south by Malibu, on the west by Agoura Hills, and on the north by Hidden Hills. As the Ventura Freeway, the historic El Camino Real runs east–west through Calabasas (US 101).
The city has a total area of 13.0 square miles (34 km2), of which 12.9 square miles (33 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) is water, according to the United States Census Bureau. Calabasas' Park Moderne, or "Bird Streets," is one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. A former artists' colony, the clubhouse, pool, and cabins may still be found spread throughout streets named after birds, such as Meadow Lark, Blackbird, Bluebird, and Hummingbird, which are located just behind Calabasas High School. Harbor Freight Tools, The Cheesecake Factory, and DTS Inc. all have their corporate headquarters in Calabasas. Calabasas is likewise regarded as one of America's richest cities.
Calabasas operates a shuttle and trolley service that is self-funded. It funds its own municipal library (rather than participating in the Los Angeles County library system), operates the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center, and has a protected and maintained historic neighborhood known as "Old Town Calabasas." Suite 10 at 4774 Park Granada and the Malibu Shell Post Office at 4807 Las Virgenes Road are both US Postal Service post offices in Calabasas. The Malibu/Lost Hills Station, located at 27050 Agoura Road in Calabasas, is run by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Calabasas is served by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which offers medical and fire suppression services.
Calabasas is also known for being the home of the Kardashians, but the Los Angeles County borough is much more than just a sanctuary for the rich and famous. Spend the day in Malibu Creek State Park or Calabasas Creek Park hiking, biking, and picnicking. Certain attractions may be closed temporarily or require reservations in advance. Currently, some eateries only provide pickup. It's possible that the hours and availability have changed. Very much so for Arleta, another neighborhood in San Fernando Valley. A common element, however, among both towns, is their welcoming atmosphere to corporate entities. Businesses work seamlessly, allowing us to excellently serve offices and individual users of printers and copiers.
